MESSAGE FROM THE ESTATE PLANNING COUNCIL OF BROWARD, INC. Estate Planning Council of Broward County Matt McKean, CTFA, CAP - President 2025-2026 Dear EPCB Members,It’s a true honor to welcome you to another exciting year at the Estate Planning Council of Broward! To our returning board members—thank you for your continued dedication and leadership. And to our new members—a very warm welcome. We’re thrilled to have you join our community and look forward to getting to know you. For those just getting acquainted, the EPCB is a multidisciplinary organization that brings together professionals in law, finance, accounting, insurance, and philanthropy who are committed to excellence in estate planning. Together, we foster professional growth, build lasting relationships, and help elevate the quality of estate and wealth planning throughout our region. We owe a debt of gratitude to our past Presidents and leaders, who have built the strong foundation we stand on today. Most recently, under Chuck Zalakar’s exceptional leadership, EPCB gained tremendous momentum—expanding programming, deepening member engagement, and strengthening the Council’s collaborative spirit. As we look ahead, my goal is to build on that momentum while staying true to what makes this Council so special:
At the same time, I hope to bring a few fresh ideas to the table—adding more social events, curating a compelling speaker lineup, and finding new ways to make EPCB even more inclusive, relevant, and engaging for both our members and the broader estate planning community. One thing I personally believe in strongly is highlighting the talent within our own membership. Encouraging our members to contribute as thought leaders isn’t just good programming—it’s an opportunity to celebrate and learn from each other while strengthening our sense of community. As we get underway, I’d love to hear your ideas and input—whether it’s a speaker recommendation, an idea for an event, or a suggestion for how we can serve you better. This is your Council, and the more voices we have at the table, the stronger we’ll be. Our Thursday dinner meeting dates are now set and will continue to be held at the Lauderdale Yacht Club from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Please take a moment and add the following dates to your calendars:
Thank you again for being a part of EPCB and for your continued support. I’m excited to learn from you, collaborate with you, and make this a standout year for our Council. Warmly,
